Color matching

Ink colors can be divided into basic colors and spot colors. We usually call black, sky blue, primary red, primary yellow, and white inks basic color inks. Cyan, magenta, and yellow are called three primary color inks. The three primary color inks can be superimposed on each other to present various color effects. Spot color inks refer to some inks that are not superimposed by the three primary colors but are mixed by ink matching.

When mixing inks, you should choose a site with ventilation equipment to ensure that the smell of solvents and inks can be discharged; it should be equipped with explosion-proof lamps and standard light sources; it should be equipped with viscosity cups, stopwatches, balances (scales), ink scraping sticks (color spreading sticks), ink scraping knives, and ink scraping papers.

Mixing of different colors:

Yellow and magenta can be mixed to produce: medium yellow, orange, orange, bright red, etc.

Yellow and cyan can be mixed to produce: light green, green, dark green, etc.

Magenta and cyan can be mixed to produce: light purple, purple, dark purple.

Different proportions of cyan, magenta and yellow can produce different hues:

① Approximate black = cyan 33.3% magenta 33.3% + yellow 33.3%

② Olive = cyan 50% + magenta 25% + yellow 25%

③ Reddish purple = cyan 25% magenta 50% + yellow 25%

④ Bronze = cyan 25% + magenta 25% + yellow 50%

③ Dark green = cyan 40% magenta 20% yellow 40%

⑥ Brown = cyan 30% + magenta 20% yellow 70%

Special color pigments

Some colors cannot produce a special color effect using the three primary colors, and special color pigments are required for production.

Golden red: The thick and bright color of golden red from the inside. The luster of golden red cannot be mixed with red ink and yellow ink.

Pink: A bright color with pink and blue light. It cannot be mixed with blue and red ink.

Rose red: a thick and bright color with pink, yellowish light, can not be adjusted with blue and red ink.

Lotus color: a thick and bright color with purple, can not be adjusted with blue and red ink.

Ultramarine: a thick and bright color with purple, can be adjusted with 70% lotus and 30% blue. Can not be adjusted with blue and red ink.

Gold and silver: only gold powder and silver powder can be used to adjust the ink.

White: produced with titanium dioxide, plays a paving role.

Notes on ink adjustment

The first step to adjust the ink is to use the ink of the same system and the same manufacturer for adjustment. It is strictly forbidden to use different system inks for adjustment. Different system inks will react incompatiblely, which will cause the ink and printed products to be scrapped.

The adjustment of ink must follow the principle of analyzing the ink hue first, then making a small sample for color matching, and then scraping the sample and determining the ink ratio.

Adhere to the principle of weighing according to the proportion to ensure the accuracy of the proportion. When using diluent, add a small amount and stir it thoroughly to ensure accurate viscosity control.
